Oobleck

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!!!! To celebrate Dr. Suess' birthday we investigated Oobleck! Oobleck is hard when you squish it, like a solid. Also, it moves like a liquid and takes the shape of its container. Oobleck is a solid and a liquid! We felt it, poked it, and smelled it. We also read the book Bartholomew and the Oobleck! We had fun celebrating Dr. Suess' birthday!

2G Goes Around Town!

We went to different classrooms. Each room was set up as a part of a community. We did activities in each room. In one of the rooms, we watched a movie called "Magic School Bus Gets Ants in the Pants". We made paper lanterns in our room to celebrate Chinese New Year. We also learned how to say hello in Chinese... Ni hao!!!! In another room we did a play. A different project we created were murals. In Mrs Simmons room, we watched a movie about money. In Miss Schaffer's room (the firehouse), we learned about fire safety. As you can see, it was a fun day for 2G!

Multiplication

Do you know how to multiply? We do! When you learn how to do multiplication you have lots of fun. Today we practiced drwaing arrays to help us multiply. Another way to say multiply is times (for example: 3 times 4 is 12). We will continue to work hard on multiplication!

Cursive

We are learning how to write in cursive. Cursive is fun! We have learned i, t, and u. Writing in cursive is important because that is how grownups write. When you write in cursvie you need to have good "handwriting position". Your feet need to be flat on the floor and you need to sit up straight. Even though it is a challenge, we are still having fun. Have fun writing in cursive. The End!

Windmill Wonderland

Wind is air that is moving! We can tell it is a windy day by looking to see if people are flying kites, if the grass is moving, if the tree branches are moving, and by looking at pinwheels. An anemometer is a tool to use if you want to see how fast wind is moving. Today, we used paper and straws to make pinwheels. Pinwheels and anemometers are similar because they both move in the wind and we can use them to see how fast the wind is blowing. If the wind is strong the pinwheel moves ridiculously fast. If the wind is weak the pinwheel moves slow. We had fun making our pinwheels! We had an incredible windy, wind day.
